I can't get my TMC EVAL board or TMCM board to connect to the TMCL IDE! It only displays as "COMx: Serial port". How can I get my device to connect?

 

This is likely due to a communication setting mismatch between board and TMCL-IDE.

  1. Click on COMx: Serial port --> A new window should appear
  2. Change "Search IDs From:" to 1 to 255 (see image below)
  3. Click Connect and wait for the IDE to try all IDs
  4. If no connection is made, try this at all listed baud rates

Also, make sure to check that reply ID is not the same as any device IDs of boards connected to the IDE. 

 

As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset. Please see the hardware manual for your specific device for further instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
