Q: Spurs are showing up within the passband when I hook up the analog output to a spectrum analyzer. Is this expected operation for this part?

A: With over 100dB of gain in the system, even the tiniest spurs can get amplified enough to see them on the IF output. Using the PLL in fractional-N mode will generally create more spurs than in integer-N mode, and the actual location of the spurs will depend on the LO frequency. In general, these spurs don't cause any real problem, since they are uncorrelated with the GPS signal. After correlation in the baseband procession, they'll typically be attenuated by >40dB, and so are not usually a reason for concern.
