How to fix the MAXREFDES100 board when programs no longer flash?

When trying to use too many peripherals at the same time the peripheral management unit may get hung up which prevents uploading new code to the device. The way to fix this is to repeatedly try to reset the device and quickly upload known good binary such as the original example code until it's successful.
